HOW TUCK. MAKES MONEY (and how you earn)

Here's how it works.

When you get a cashback card through tuck., we earn a small commission from the retailer. We pass that commission to you as cashback - instantly. You pay the same price you would anyway. The retailer gets a sale. You get money back.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is cashback and how does it work?

Cashback is money you get back every time you spend. With tuck., it works by buying a digital cashback card for a retailer before you shop - Tesco, ASDA, Boots and 200+ others. The retailer pays tuck. a small commission on the sale. We pass that directly to you as cashback, which lands in your tuck. wallet instantly. You then spend the card at the till or online as you normally would. There is no change to how you shop - you just get paid to do it.

Can I get cashback on my weekly food shop?

Yes. tuck. works at all the major UK supermarkets including Tesco, ASDA, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, M&S Food, Waitrose, Iceland and Lidl. Before your next shop, open the tuck. app, buy a cashback card for your supermarket, and use it at the checkout. The cashback hits your wallet the moment you pay - with no coupons, no voucher codes, and no waiting. The average supermarket shopper using tuck. earns hundreds of pounds back every year.

What is the difference between a cashback app and a cashback website?

Traditional cashback websites like TopCashback or Quidco require you to click through to a retailer's website, shop online, then wait weeks or months for your cashback to be confirmed and paid. tuck. works differently. You buy a cashback card before you shop - in-store or online - and the cashback is in your wallet instantly the moment you pay. There is no waiting for confirmation, no minimum threshold to reach before you can withdraw, and no tracking links to click through.

How do I use a cashback card in-store?

When you are at the checkout, you have two options. You can show the digital barcode - tap the barcode in the tuck. app to enlarge it and the cashier scans it, just like any loyalty card. Or you can add the card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet and tap to pay at the till. For retailers that support it, you can also save the card to your wallet before you leave home so you do not need to open the app at the checkout at all.

How do I use a cashback card for online shopping?

For online purchases, copy the card number and PIN from the tuck. app. At checkout on the retailer's website, look for a field labelled gift card, voucher code, or promotional code and enter the details there. If the card does not cover your full order value, you can pay the remaining balance with your usual payment method. This works for all online-enabled retailers on tuck., including ASOS, Amazon, and many more.

How much cashback can I realistically earn in a year?

It depends on where and how much you spend, but the numbers add up quickly. tuck. offers cashback rates typically between 2% and 10% depending on the retailer. If you spend £400 a month on groceries at 4% back, that is £192 a year just from your food shop. Add in occasional fashion, eating out and home purchases and many tuck. users earn £500 to £1,500 or more per year. You can see your personal estimate using the savings calculator on the tuck. website.

Can I still use my Clubcard, Nectar card or Boots Advantage Card with tuck.?

Yes, absolutely. Your tuck. cashback card and your loyalty card are completely separate. When you are at the till, scan your Clubcard, Nectar card or Advantage Card as you normally would to collect your points, then pay with your tuck. cashback card. You collect both rewards at the same time. tuck. cashback stacks on top of - not instead of - your existing loyalty scheme.

When does my cashback arrive?

Instantly. The moment you purchase your tuck. cashback card, the cashback appears in your Personal Savings in the app. You do not need to wait for the purchase to be confirmed by the retailer, there is no pending period, and no approval process. This is one of the key differences between tuck. and traditional cashback platforms where you can wait 30 to 90 days or longer.

Do cashback rates vary between retailers?

Yes. Every brand on tuck. sets its own cashback rate, which represents the percentage of your spend they are prepared to give back as a reward. Some retailers offer a flat rate on everything, others vary the rate by product category. Rates also change over time - brands sometimes run promotional periods with higher rates. You can always see the current live rate for any retailer inside the tuck. app before you buy.

How do I pay for a cashback card on tuck.?

tuck. supports Apple Pay, Google Pay, and instant bank transfer via open banking. You can choose whichever method suits you each time you buy. Apple Pay is available on iOS devices and accepts Visa and Mastercard debit cards. Google Pay works on Android devices.

How do I withdraw my cashback to my bank account?

Open the tuck. app and go to your Personal Savings at the top of the main page. Tap Withdraw, enter the amount you want to transfer, and confirm. Withdrawals are processed and arrive in your bank account within 3 to 5 business days. There is a minimum withdrawal amount in the app which you can check at any time. Alternatively, you can use your cashback balance directly in the app to buy more cashback cards without withdrawing at all.

What happens if my payment fails or my card is declined?

If your payment does not go through, you will not be charged. The most common reasons for a failed payment are a connection issue at the time of purchase, insufficient funds on the linked payment method, or a temporary issue with the retailer's system. Check your internet connection and try again. If the problem persists, contact tuck. support via the Help section in the app. Any money that has left your account will be refunded automatically.

How do I create a tuck. account?

Download the tuck. app free from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Open it, tap Start Saving, and follow the steps to create your account. You will need to provide your name, email address, and phone number, then verify your identity - this is a quick process required under UK financial regulations. The whole setup takes less than 60 seconds. Once your account is verified you can immediately start buying cashback cards and earning.

Why do I need to verify my identity to use tuck.?

Identity verification (known as KYC - Know Your Customer) is a legal requirement for financial services platforms in the UK. It protects you and all tuck. users from fraud and money laundering. The process is quick - you typically provide a photo of your ID and a selfie. Once verified, your account is fully active. tuck. takes fraud prevention seriously and works to ensure every account on the platform is genuine.

Which retailers can I earn cashback at with tuck.?

tuck. currently works at 200+ UK retailers across every major shopping category. Supermarkets include Tesco, ASDA, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, M&S Food, Waitrose, Iceland and Lidl. Eating out includes Nando's, Costa, Caffè Nero, Greggs and Uber Eats. Fashion includes ASOS, adidas, River Island and TK Maxx. Home and DIY includes B&Q, IKEA and B&M. Health and beauty includes Boots. Entertainment includes Odeon. Travel includes Uber and Hotels.com. New retailers are added regularly.

What do I do if a retailer is not showing in the app?

There are a few reasons a retailer might not be visible. It may be temporarily unavailable due to a rate change or technical update, in which case it will reappear shortly. The retailer may also not yet be a tuck. partner - if there is a specific brand you would like to see, you can request it via the app. If a retailer you have used before has suddenly disappeared, check your internet connection and refresh the app. If the issue persists, contact tuck. support.

Why is my cashback card balance not updating after I used it?

If you spent only part of your cashback card balance in a single visit rather than the full amount, the remaining balance will not update automatically in the app. This is because tuck. does not receive real-time spend data from all retailers. You will need to manually update the remaining balance in the app after your purchase. Tap the card in your Wallet, then update the balance to reflect how much you have left. This keeps your wallet accurate for your next shop.

My cashback has not appeared - what should I do?

With tuck., cashback is credited instantly when you purchase your cashback card - not when you spend it in-store. If you have purchased a card and your cashback is not showing in Personal Savings, first check that the purchase completed successfully in your Transaction History. If the payment went through but cashback is missing, contact tuck. support through the Help section in the app or email support@tuckapp.co with your transaction details and the team will investigate and resolve it quickly.
